Udder Delight
- Goat milk - some frozen and some liquid
- Berries or other fruit (fresh or frozen)
- Cocoa or carob
- Honey (or maple syrup)
- Blackstrap molasses (adding this helps make up for milk being low in iron)
- Yogurt
Put frozen goats milk in blender. Add berries, or other fruit or honey or cocoa and honey or a combination of these. Blend until smooth. You will probably have to add liquid milk so it is not too thick for your blender. You can also add molasses, yogurt, nuts and seeds, coconut, or anything else you can think of.
This is an excellent treat after a hard, hot day of moving hay, working in the garden or cleaning the barn. We also like to eat it as a meal with stovetop popcorn.
You can use your imagination to make Udder Delight. Experiment with different ingredients. Below are some of our favorite variations:
Eliya's favorite:
- Goats milk
- Cocoa powder
- Raw honey
- Vanilla
- Strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- A tiny bit of molasses
- Yogurt
Peach Udder Delight
- Goats milk
- Peaches (fresh or frozen)
- A little bit of honey if the peaches are sour
Dad's Delight:
- Goats milk
- Cocoa powder
- Maple Syrup
- Vanilla
- Strawberries, blueberries and peaches (fresh or frozen)
- A tiny bit of molasses
- Yogurt
- Coconut
- Freshly ground flaxseed (you need to grind it, the blender doesn't seem to touch them)
- Almonds or other nuts (add these after the rest is done to just slightly chop them but not pulverize them)
Vanilla Udder Delight:
- Goats milk
- Honey (or maple syrup)
- Vanilla
Blueberry Blast Udder Delight:
- Goats milk
- Blueberries (fresh or frozen)
Blueberries are so sweet, this one doesn't usually need any extra sweetener and it is soooo yummy!
Strawberry Shake Udder Delight:
- Goats milk
- Strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- Honey (or maple syrup) - optional. You really only need this if your berries are sour.
